I’m working in a Python Functions repository using Foundry’s hosted VS Code workspace. I successfully generated a PowerPoint file at `outputs/presentation.pptx`, but I’m having trouble exporting it.

The workspace status shows **“Active (restricted outputs).”**

Here’s what I’ve encountered:

- The file has no Download option in the VS Code Explorer.

- Attempts to create a dataset and upload the file fail with `FoundryContainerService:EndpointDisabledForContainers`.

- The [Code Workspaces security documentation](https://www.palantir.com/docs/foundry/code-workspaces/security/#restricted-outputs-mode) describes a **Restricted outputs mode** toggle in workspace Settings, but I cannot find it.

- I checked Preferences, Security approvals, and Advanced features. Advanced features only shows **Functions preview** , which is enabled.

- The workspace status dropdown only contains pause, restart, checkpoint, and log controls.

Is restricted outputs mode configurable in a **Python Functions VS Code workspace** , or is it enforced for this workspace type?

If it is configurable, where is the supported control, and what permissions are required? Also, does `EndpointDisabledForContainers` result from this mode, or is it a separate endpoint limitation?

My immediate goal is to download the generated `.pptx` file. What is the supported workflow for exporting a generated binary from this environment?

Hey @david.listro1541 — The docs say the restricted-outputs toggle is in the workspace Settings panel, but don’t clarify whether it’s supported for Python Functions VS Code workspaces or what permissions are needed.

I think the next step is to ask your workspace admin or Palantir representative to confirm whether this workspace supports changing the mode and whether the container output endpoint is enabled.
