Object Reference Searchable Properties in Forms

Hello!

I have a question that is bugging me for a while, and hopefully someone can help me.

We use Ontology Actions A LOT. We use them because they are easy to create, easy to implement in different applications and pretty good at addressing most of our workflows.

Our issue with it is that Object References are really hard to work with when it comes to Searching for an object. Take this for example:

I have a candidate pool and I want to search for a Pedro. I write down Pedro and every searchable property will look for it:

This is annoying because we really just want this dropdown to be searchable for a handfull of things, like name and email, for example. But the object reference dropdown does not offer us that option, ending up return results where Pedro is in the CV text or the address or something else that is irrelevant for us. We have a workaround which is creating a pre filter based on the name, but I dont love it because it is adding more steps to a form that does not need them

This is particularly interesting because we do have that option in workshop. We can select the properties to search for in an object dropdown:

And you can see that we do get results filtered only by forename or email:

So my question is: do we have any control on searchable properties in Ontology Actions? Any type-class wizardry that we can use? If not, shall I expect that to change soon?

Hi @pedrotorres

Not on specific Actions as per my knowledge, but you can control what Properties of the Object are searchable in Ontology Manager itself: go to “Properties” and go to “Interaction” tab of the specific property

Hey!

Thanks for the reply, but unfortunately we do want these properties to be searchable, so that is not an option…
