Ability for multiple users to update the same objects within an object type

  • Give context on the use case / what you’re trying to achieve
Currently we are using workshop displaying objects within an object type for users to be able to update properties within those specific objects (using writeback). We have multiple users updating this list of objects but they currently don’t have visibility if another user is in the same object potentially making changes.

Was looking for Foundry to have an ability to enable multiple users to collaborate on the same object without lose of data integrity (similar to how multiple users can have the same Excel spreadsheet or Word document open and are updating it simultaneously.

  • Why you can’t do it today / work-arounds
Workaround is assigning specific objects from the list of objects for the users to update from the list of objects. While it works, it also requires lots of communication should users want to help other users with their list of objects to work through.

  • Why will this make a huge difference for you or your business?
Yes it would certainly streamline the way they action objects within the list of objects and allow them to be more proficient with their daily tasks!

  • Bonus points if you want to provide a demo video to aid in your pitch!

To clarify: Does the “autorefresh” feature of Workshop helps ? This should refresh the object lists/views/variable whenever another user is updating those.
