Access to Workshop Comments

Background

  • Currently Users can comment using the comments widget in Workshop.
  • These comments contain (at scale) interesting signal for organisations

Feature Request

  • Feature request is that these comments are made available in some export or query-able way - for example as an API, dataset or some style of materialisation.

Potential Benefit

  • AIP offers the ability to now extract insight from these comments at scale
  • With access we can look for causal or systematic issues which are frequently showing up in comments.
  • If a point in time ability only we could use the access to transition existing use cases to an ontology backed object for comments.
  • Using AIP and agents we could find novel ways to find issues which are currently buried in comments.

Current situation

  • Comments aren’t available outside the UI, no option for extract (that I can find)
  • Work arounds exist to create a new comments object type; however, this means we’d start again and not be able to leverage the existing data asset being built in these comments.

Ideal or alternate scenario

  • Ideally we’d be able to write a function to hit the Palantir API and pull back comments as required.
  • Alternatively some type of materialisation from the attached object type could be good, would provide a direct path to migrating to an ontology comment object.

You can define in the comments widget an action the should be triggered when a comment is posted:

This way you could build your own comment log. A direct api would be also nice though, I agree.

Hey @Flackermann , this is a great call out, definitely good for future comment sections, I’m keen to essentially extract info from previous comments as we have many 10’s of thousands of comments. I do wonder if this is the actual solution though and we may just need to setup for future comments.
