The Foundry documentation does not specify the exact number of days after which a file or dataset in Trash is automatically deleted. It mentions that the deletion of transactions marked by retention policies can take up to 30 days. Could someone clarify if the automatic deletion of files or datasets in Trash follows a similar timeframe (or) where I can find this information for my specific Foundry instance?
There is no automatic deletion of the trash - we learned this recently as well and had to implement a workaround by scanning all Trash’s on the stack and manually deleting compass resources from the trash.
For datasets, you may configure retention policies to delete transactions and files of datasets that have been trashed. You may talk to your Palantir representative to configure System retention policies that manage this by default if not implemented already, or you can configure specific policies using the Trash selector.
@nicornk is correct that there is no automatic hard deletion of project resources from the trash.
