Can 1U servers handle the compute demands of Palantir applications in edge environments?

Hi everyone,

I’m exploring the feasibility of deploying Palantir applications in edge environments using compact 1U servers. Given the limited space and power constraints typical of edge setups, I’m curious if 1U servers can effectively support the compute and memory requirements for running Foundry or Gotham modules.

Has anyone here successfully used 1U servers for this purpose? Any recommendations on hardware specs or pitfalls to avoid would be greatly appreciated.

I’m assuming your are not speaking about Data Connection Agents (see https://www.palantir.com/docs/foundry/data-connection/set-up-agent) which requirements are fairly lightweight.

Palantir has specific Edge capabilities, but those need to be discussed directly depending on your requirements as they are not self-service yet.

Can you reach out to your Palantir representative to discuss those topics ? They will be better addressed this way.
