Creating edit-only object in ontology manager

Is there a way to create an entirely edit-only object in OMA? I can set it up to be created (providing a backing dataset to be used for permissions but not using any columns from it) but it throws an error when saving about having an edit-only primary key property. I know I can just create an empty dataset with the schema I want but I was hoping with the option of edit-only properties that I’d be able to create an object without needing an empty schema dataset now. Wondering if there is another way around this.

There’s currently not a way to achieve this. (The main reason for this, is that the dataset is needed for permissioning reason). There’s ongoing work to make this flow easier (By autogenerating a backing dataset for you in in the ontology manager) to make this flow easier!

Hi @serenas , coming back to @vhellem 's note here the flow of create edit-only object type has been improved. Ontology Manager app will now create and manage the backing datasource on your behalf for edit-only object types.
