Foundry’s path navigation needs to be better.
The most recent path is not being stored reliably. This is a non-trivial annoyance, adding more overhead and frustration to a workflow, that is generally normalised across the industry.
Example:
- You create a code repository in project X, folder A.
- You then want to create some links between objects in the Ontology, based on generated datasets.
- Every single time you save one of these datasets in project X, folder B, the next dialogue will propose you save them in folder A. folder B generally never shows up in the “recents” tab, so one needs to navigate to that, every single time.
Proposal: Your last save-path should be the one that the next item will be stored in, when the save-dialogue opens, and ‘recents’ should be longer and smarter about where it picks paths from (e.g. did I just open the path or did I open/save a file in the path).
Note: Compass didn’t show up under tags.
