With custom widget I feel we can overcome many limitations of native workshop widget.
However, what I feel missing is a first class solution to tailor workshop (or react apps) to individual users. In detail I’d love to get:
- new timestamp variable „user‘s last visit to this workshop module“. With this we could more easily create views on „this happened since your last visit“. I am aware that there are foundry internal datasets saving this for audit trail purposes. However, utilizing this data is prohibited by many organizations due to GDPR.
- Ability to create and safe custom user preferences. I am thinking of saving user specific information like „has seen overlay_product_announcement_5“ or „supress_all_notifications“ or „preferred_default_tab_in_xyz“ . For sure, this could be done with a dedicated object type, but it would be again a custom solution of each use case and I think Workshop PD can do better here
