Gantt: last event on top

Hello,

It could be very usefull to order gantt in reverse order in comparison with current capability “First event start time”.

I suggest having another ordering method in gantt widget that will place in firt position the event that end on the latest date.

Why ? Because there is use case where user want to view in first intention “when last event will occure”. For instant, I have a sequence of task deffined to build a house, all these task end date can change and I want to control if end dae of the last event will not be too late.

There’s a couple of Object Views we’re not yet migrated to Workshops because we can’t switch them to make the most recent event the top one, and earlier events appear below.

Any chance to getting this feature added please?

I’ve opened a feature request internally to track.

@green are you saying that this functionality is available in legacy object view sections? I primarily work on Workshop and am less familiar with the functionality available there but we would like to be aware of any gaps preventing moving to Workshop backed object view tabs.

@evanj Yes, so in the ‘legacy’ Object view I can create a Gantt chart like this:

With the last event top right, so ‘leading up’ to the final, most important, event, which makes sense for my customers.

In Workshop I can only only do this:

Which means user have to scroll down the page to see the last, and most critical event, possibly scrolling down the first screen. Which is not so good.

I’m not 100% sure this is @gdf 's problem, but I think so.

Thank you green, this is exactly my point.

Thank you! I appreciate the explicit screenshots. The request is clear and we’re tracking it internally now. We probably won’t make an update to the Gantt Chart widget immediately specifically for this, but hopefully could get this in as a quick request the next time the Gantt Chart is touched.
