How can I hide the "Actions" drop-down when viewing a slate?

Hey,

I’ve created a Slate application that I’ve shared with my users. However, when they open the application, they see the “Actions” dropdown in the top-right that I use to enter edit mode. Is there a way for me to hide it from them either through configuration or altering the link I share with them?

Thanks,

If you click into the Settings cogwheel in the upper right corner, you can configure whether the “Actions” button is shown or not in View mode:

Note that this configuration applies to all users for the Slate, so to enter the Slate in edit mode, you’ll need to access it from Compass (right-click → Actions → Edit) or modify the URL “/workspace/slate/app/…” to “/workspace/slate/edit/app/…”.

Just FYI, as of Oct 9, 2024, Slate’s settings cogwheel is now on the bottom left of the edit page.
