Introducing Badges and the Leaderboard

Today, we’re rolling out a few new Community features, Badges and the Community Leaderboard. We hope both of these will allow you, our community, the chance to demonstrate your knowledge and contributions, and even encourage a little friendly competition for the top spots.

Leaderboard
Users receive points for their actions in Community. Once logged in, you can view your total points, and how you rank against other members of the Community, on the Leaderboard.

Points (called Cheers) are awarded for engaging with the community, such as visiting, liking, and posting. Your score is updated every few minutes. So please go be helpful, active, and supportive, and rise through the ranks!

Badges
We’ve created a number of Badges to mark certain milestones in user’s contributions to the Community. We’ve split badges into three main categories:

  • Community Engagement badges highlight contributors to the Community
  • Platform Knowledge badges recognize, though actions in the Community, technical prowess on particular products
  • Accomplishment badges celebrate real world events, such as attending certain events.

Most badges are awarded automatically once per day, although some will be awarded manually.

We may need to make adjustments to badge criteria from time to time, especially as the Community evolves. Thank you for your patience and understanding here.

We hope you enjoy these new features of Community, and look out for more features soon.

Happy Posting!
