Low Cardinality Scale

The “Low Cardinality” ontology property index hint. Is there a recommendation for how many unique values until it’s no longer “low” cardinality?

A property with [Yes, No, Maybe] seems pretty obvious that it would benefit. What about a US State column with 50 values? Is 50 unique values still low cardinality?

The docs just say what it does, but doesn’t give an indication of scale.

I’m speculating here, but I think this hint might only be used to determine what kind of filter visualization to use in some Object Explorer interactions? I also think it might be superseded by newer filter elements that automatically calculate a histogram and rank terms from any string property.

Would be curious to have some confirmation from someone with more details.
