It would be great if metric cards allowed you to choose a property to display as the primary, and then simply fed the ontology’s formatting (both numeric and conditional) through to the metric card, as OMA suggests is possible in the conditional formatting preview:
Unfortunately this doesn’t work out to be the case, so configuring object views in Workshop using metric cards now requires twice the amount of configuration for conditional formatting.
We’re tracking a feature request internally to support this. Currently this does not work because conditional formatting rules are dropped at the variable level - there’s currently no way for a variable to associate conditional formatting rules from the object type it came from. Compared to an object table where properties are defined for a widget directly against an object set variable.
