Object Explorer: Switch branches

Hello,

I’ve added a “test” branch to my project, and now my ontology has a different datasource depending on the branch being active.
It all works fine, except I’d like to be able to view the data in the “Object Explorer” pertaining to the branch I’m currently on. Unfortunately going to “Object Explorer” always defaults to “main” and I’ haven’t figured out a way to get it to switch to my other branch.

I’ve scoured the UI and couldn’t see anything, so maybe I’m missing something. How could I do this?

Thank you!

Hey @Coder -

I don’t think this is supported yet (Docs: Branching Supported Functionality) but is on the roadmap. For now, a workaround that I have used has been to create a workshop on a branch with filters and an object table to view the data (very un-ideal) but might be helpful.

Hi @Coder

You are correct that you are only seeing the main branch in Object Explorer since that application is not yet ‘branch aware’. The product team is working on a major upgrade to Object Explorer that fully modernizes the application. With this work, branching will also be added. I don’t have an exact date to share here, but the work is planned for remaining months of this year.

Thanks for the question.

Thank you; this would be a very needed feature.
