Palantir SetUp and Storage

Hi There,

Im looking for the steps on setting up the Palantir for an organisation. Also I have couple of questions

  1. Can we install this on any cloud or does palantir has a separate platform setup?
  2. Can we store the data on Palantir? If yes, the maximum data size supported.
  3. Is this similar to Databricks in terms of storage and computation?

Thanks in Advance!!

Hi!

  • There’s a few cloud provider supported, main ones being Azure, AWS, GCP. I’d reach out to your palantir rep to get more details about other ones, or about on-premise setups.
  • You can for sure store the data on Palantir Foundry, if you are on the cloud then the cloud is the limit. Some stacks have PBs of data
  • Depends on what you mean by similar - Foundry stores your data with replication to be resilient; there a few mechanism to use indexed storage for what makes sense to be indexed depending on your ontology (ie business needs). Compute can be seen as table transformations. A one stop-place to visualize your pipeline’s compute & storage would be the data lineage app with different legends available and allowing you to see the schedules on your transforms.

Is there any documentation on the Palantir initial setup in AWS Cloud.
