Dear community, I’m working in Palantir Quiver and have joined two Object Sets. I’ve applied additional transforms, such as extracting the month and year from a timestamp, resulting in a final transformed table. I’d like to create a pivot table based on this transformed data.
However, when I add a pivot table card in Quiver, I can only select from existing Object Sets — not the transformed table from my pipeline.
I know I can export the result as a CSV and re-import it as a new Object Set, but I’d prefer to avoid that and build the pivot directly from the transform table.
Is there a way to create a pivot table directly from a transformed dataset in Quiver, without creating a new Object Set?
Unfortunately it is not currently possible. The Pivot Table card can only operate on base Object Sets, not on Transform Tables. We will submit this as a feature request and keep it in mind!
The Ontology is a key component for us, and we actively encourage the business to use Workshop for operational workflows. In cases where analytics is needed, we prefer to work directly with Quiver on the Object Types rather than shifting users to Contour where you can create a pivot table on the backing datasets.
Enabling Pivot Tables in Quiver on Transform Tables would significantly enhance the consistency and effectiveness of our approach. We would strongly welcome this capability and appreciate that it’s been submitted as a feature request.
