Please bring back the external functions window — it’s much more intuitive and faster for developing Slates. Also, please bring back the feature that allowed opening that window in a separate tab. To further optimize development speed, it would be ideal to be able to open queries in a separate tab as well. Thank you.
I support this idea, since for more efficient and faster development, it is much more convenient to have the functions in an external window.
Hey, appreciate the feedback and we’re exploring options to make the editing experience better.
We’re considering adding some more options for the editor such as word wrap and to make resizing easier, or perhaps a larger overhaul - will keep you updated in this thread.
This morning I opened my project and saw queries now opening in sidebar.
Let me tell you this is awful.
It makes no sense that developers have to keep switching between viewing the structure of a function and the query used within it. Restoring the ability to move queries, functions, and variables to another screen — to check when they update live, etc. — is very important for our productivity. Not to mention the space each open tab takes up in Slate, which prevents us from comfortably working and viewing code at the same time.
I believe that many of the changes made over the past year have made application development more difficult, and I can’t understand the reasoning behind several of them.
Thank you, best regards.
