Speedrun: Your First Agentic AIP Workflow

I’m currently completing the “Speedrun: Your First Agentic AIP Workflow” and I’m blocked at the installation phase of my AIP Logic block (v1.2.0).

The Issue: > When attempting to select a model (e.g., GPT-5 nano), the search dropdown is entirely blank. This prevents validation and installation due to inputShapeNotSpecified and PERMISSION_DENIED errors.

Troubleshooting Done:

  1. Control Panel: AIP is enabled, and the GPT-5 model family is “Enabled” with “Everyone” access.
  2. Application Access: AIP Logic is explicitly enabled for my user group.
  3. Environment: The model works perfectly in Workshop widgets within the same project, but is invisible to the AIP Logic editor.
  4. Project Structure: I have verified project references are added between my working project (xx) and the model registry.

Is there a specific AIP Service User permission or a Resource Reference I might be missing for the Logic engine specifically?

Many thaks

Hello @garry ,

Thank you for reaching out and bringing this behavior to our attention.

This issue does appear to be related to user permissions. I would recommend talking with your POC to ensure all AIP Service User permissions for your account are correct, and that AIP logic functions are available from within your workspace and that you can access them from Marketplace.

Other possible troubleshooting would be the following:

  1. Verify the AIP usage policy in Control Panel explicitly covers the project folder (Compass RID).
  2. Ensure the project has a resource reference to Language Model Service resources (not just the model registry — LMS resources are separate).
  3. Check if there’s a project-scoped AIP policy that might be restricting which projects can use which models.

Regards,

Adel

Thanks Adel for tips!

AIP-enabled organizations (1/1) and for everyone for now as try. and LLM Model level also enabled.

Reserved capacity for GPT4.1 and 5 nano are assigned to the project to install marketplace.

the project is assigned to the org which is enabled LLM - GPT4.1 and 5 nano. and user has admin permission as well.

Any further tips?

Cheers

Hi @garry

Thanks for confirming those checks.

Since AIP is enabled at the org level, the relevant model families are enabled, reserved capacity is assigned to the project, and you can use the same models in Workshop, this does not look like a general model-enablement issue. The behavior looks more specific to the AIP Logic installation or validation path.

To narrow down whether this is a Logic-specific permission gap or a product issue, could you provide the following information:

  1. Does this reproduce in a brand-new test project with the same organization and model setup?
  2. If you are able to capture browser developer console or network errors at the time the selector loads, that would be useful as well.

Thank you!

Adel

Hi @ALongino

yes, tried brand new project with same org, and my another seperate project is able to utilise API logic to generate some analysis.

The console info seems showing the installer is trying to fetch a list of available models but might be hitting a permission wall.

It seems AIP Logic function is trying to run during handshake/installation, but it has no idea what the “shape” (the structure or properties) of its input data is supposed to look like.
Attached is the snip.

Hello.

I am experiencing the same issue.

I am unable to select a model.

I deleted the existing namespace and recreated it.

In this case, what should I check?

AIP is enabled, and permissions have been granted to all users.

Hello @garry & @trumbing ,

I think the next best course of action would be to submit a Palantir Support ticket or reach out to your Palantir point of contact for additional support.

This type of question would be better situated there so we can offer more specialized support and can get better insights into what the problems are.

Thank you,

Adel
