What controls access to the Project Usage link other than what is written in public docs?

Are there any other control panel settings or anything else that might be impacting access to the Project Usage link? I can see the Project Usage link for Projects that I am not owner on, and we have users who are unable to see this link even with Owner access / usage-aggregator:view-project-usage in Roles. The docs seem like they might be incomplete or outdated here:

Thank you!

Hi @tmn,

Thanks for your post! We actually discovered this bug recently and shipped a fix yesterday. We were displaying the link based on a different project operation – but rest assured that access to the usage data itself was controlled by usage-aggregator:view-project-usage, as explained in the docs.

I’m reasonably confident that the issue should be resolved now, but please reach out if not.

Thanks again, and apologies for any confusion or inconvenience!

Thanks @NoahL ! We confirmed most users are able to see this tab now, but the original reporter is still unable to see it under the conditions I am expecting (owner on Project, roles are correct, no markings). We tried clearing cache and logging out/in. I believe the fix did make it to our stack because other users who could not see it before now see it. If you have any other ideas on things we can try for this user please let me know!

Glad to hear that most users are unblocked! But also sorry to hear about the original reporter.

Just to make sure that we are on the same page, we are looking for the link in the project navigation panel as pictured below and as shown at the bottom of the docs page here, correct?

Assuming we are talking about the same link in the project navigation panel, does the user have access to the data if they manually construct the URL, /workspace/resource-management/<PROJECT_RID>, or do they see “Unable to load project usage”?

If they have access to the data but still don’t see the link, then I would check whether they are on the prior platform version, which might not yet have the fix on your stack.

If they don’t have access to the data, then we should debug the permissions issue. For example, the usage-aggregator:view-project-usage operation is granted by default to the Owner role, but it is possible to manage roles and role sets in Foundry Settings.

Hope something here helps, but please feel free to reach back out if your user is still blocked.
