I just got out of a meeting with a business user expressing concern that the filters disappear when she clears them. The root of the issue is that some users expect the “X” to clear filters instead of deleting them. This is the “X” that appears on histogram filters when users have the option to add and remove filters. Please consider replacing the option screenshotted below with two separate options:

Currently, filters will first show a “Clear” button if they have a value, followed by the “X” button which will remove the filter. To work around this behavior, you could consider a combination of two filter list widgets, one with default filters configured and the “Allow users to add and remove filters” option turned off, followed by another filter list below with no default filters configured and this option turned on.
