Hi,
my development use case is: I want to notify workshop users following successful completion of an action, sending them an email that includes a hyperlink to navigate them to the relevant workshop UI and move them to a particular tab view. How do i configure the specific tab i want them to see when they navigate to the workshop?
thanks Joe
you can do this with a variable-backed tab selection plus a module interface variable, then pass the tab name in the url.
- create a string variable, e.g. selectedTab, static default = the name of your normal first tab
- on the tabbed section, set “Variable-backed tab selection” to selectedTab. the value has to match the tab name
- in the variable’s settings, add an external ID (e.g. tab) and turn on the module interface toggle
- open the module in view mode (not edit), copy the url and add the param:
https://?tab=Approvals - put that link in the email your action sends. if you also need the record, expose another interface variable and chain it with &, e.g. ?tab=Approvals&recordId=123
two things to know: the url value only sets the variable on first load, changing the url after that won’t move the tab. and normal clicks still work, switch to tab events update selectedTab for you.
